Owned by two English brothers, Tom and Matthew Hills since 2010, Hacienda Sajonia is located in northern Nicaragua and situated in the beautiful El Diablo – Datanli natural reserve high up in the mountains between Matagalpa & Jinotega. High quality coffee was already grown in the productive area, the farm being able to trace its roots back to 1899, but lack of infrastructure investment and the use of old fashioned farming methods had left the farm in need of much renovation. As such the brothers have embarked on a long term plan to enhance the quality of the coffee by adopting modern agronomic practices. Furthermore, they aim to improve social and environmental conditions by modernising infrastructure. The coffee has a smooth light body a medium/light acidity and a fruity sweet taste. Expect a fruity sweet taste with nectarines and apricots.
